01 / Preliminary
Preliminary
On September 28th, 2026, our research found that TradingView had updated its terms of service page with a new clause. The same research showed that the clause appeared between September 21st and September 25th. This was made popularly known by X user @SigCharts.
This ridiculous clause, known as Section 22A, would go on to spark outrage and a select number of emotions from creators on TradingView, including myself, for a bunch of reasons that are rather valid in my opinion.

In the following days, creators had chats with the TradingView team to better understand how to adapt to the new changes. And TradingView reached back and said this:

Alright, so problem solved, right? Not quite.
02 / Crux
The crux
A few days later, they made some new changes to the terms of service, otherwise known as Section 23.

This has a very simple meaning. Up until now, fstarlabs has operated its business via Whop with near zero issues. Now with this change, we are forced to make the decision to either switch to the Creator Program or restructure our entire offer around new systems that don't directly involve TradingView's invite-only system.
Now, executive decisions won't be made in a blog post, but rest assured: no customer will be cut off from something they already paid for.
03 / For the customer
What does this mean for the customer
- Starting Oct 28th, 2026, fstarlabs will stop accepting new purchases of invite-only tools published on TradingView, on every plan: monthly, quarterly, yearly and lifetime.
- Existing monthly, quarterly and yearly plans will not renew on or after November 1, so you will not be charged again for them.
- People who paid before November 1 keep access for the period they bought, lifetime included. Lifetime only counts for already existing scripts, as TradingView has made sure we cannot safely provide new tools to our users via a protected route that isn't subject to sudden changes at their sole discretion.
We made an announcement about the situation in our official discord. Check it out there.
04 / Final verdict
Final verdict
TradingView is not the be-all and end-all. fstarlabs will continue to innovate on the best way to provide service to our customers, without fail.
Until then, we implore you to reduce your heavy dependence on closed-source, highly proprietary software. It can be quite unpredictable, as TradingView has shown.
